Mazethramycin B
Mazethramycin B, an antitumor antibiotic derived from S. thioluteus, exhibits activity against nine bacterial species, such as S. aureus, B. subtilis, and K. pneumoniae [MICs = 3.12, 1.56, and 3.12 mg/ml, respectively], as well as the fungus C. pseudotropicalis [MIC = 6.25 mg/ml]. Additionally, Mazethramycin B (31.3 mg/kg per day) enhances survival in an L1210 murine leukemia model.
