DXR-IN-4

DXR-IN-4 (Compound 12a) is a potent small-molecule inhibitor of 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase (DXR), exhibiting nanomolar IC50 values against the enzyme from P. falciparum, E. coli, and M. tuberculosis. It also shows antimalarial activity against P. falciparum strains 3D7 and Dd2. This inhibitor is a valuable tool for research in antimicrobial drug discovery and studies of the non-mevalonate isoprenoid biosynthesis pathway.
