Butyrolactone Ia is a small molecule inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO) production (IC50 = 18 μM) that suppresses LPS-induced iNOS and IL-1β expression. It also modulates autophagy in HeLa cells and demonstrates immunosuppressive activity, making it useful for research in inflammation and immunology.
