Aphidicolin 17-acetate

Aphidicolin 17-acetate is a cell-permeable, specific inhibitor of eukaryotic DNA polymerase α, sparing polymerases β and γ. It effectively blocks nuclear DNA replication in vivo, as demonstrated in sea urchin embryos and HeLa cells, without inhibiting RNA or protein synthesis, making it a valuable tool for cell cycle and DNA replication studies.
