ACHE-IN-38 (Compound mol-8) inhibits the metabolic breakdown of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (ACh) by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and hence alleviates memory deficits in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease by potentiating cholinergic transmission[1].
