2-Butenoyl coenzyme A (lithium) is an active compound used as a substrate for enzymes such as Plasmodium falciparum enoyl-ACP reductase and other enoyl-CoA reductases. It can also serve as a substrate analog for kinetic studies of β-hydroxyacyl-acyl carrier protein (ACP) dehydrase (FabZ) .
