EGTA tetrasodium is a specialized chelating agent for calcium ions. At physiological pH (7.4), it exhibits a dissociation constant (Kd) of 60.5 nM, indicating a high specificity for Ca2+ over Mg2+. Additionally, EGTA tetrasodium significantly inhibits the substrate adhesion capability of inflammatory macrophages.
