Collagenase Type II

Collagenase Type II is a bacterial matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-8) from Clostridium histolyticum that selectively cleaves native type I collagen. It is extensively used for the efficient dissociation of tough tissues like pancreas and liver in both in vitro cell isolation protocols and in vivo research models.
