Antimicrobial agent-39 (Compound 8i) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by targeting the 50S ribosomal subunit and disrupts cell membrane integrity. Its activity against organic cation transporters (OCT) promotes renal accumulation, which has shown efficacy in improving pyelonephritis in murine in vivo models.
