Sesaminol is an orally active Nrf2-ARE pathway activator that promotes Nrf2 nuclear translocation and upregulates antioxidant enzymes like NQO1. It demonstrates neuroprotective effects in cellular models, such as inhibiting 6-OHDA-induced ROS and apoptosis in SH-SY5Y cells, and in vivo against rotenone-induced Parkinson's pathology.
