(E) -PHCCC is a positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of mGluR4, potentiating glutamate-induced receptor activation. It exhibits an EC50 of 3.2 μM in calcium mobilization assays using CHO cells. This compound is a valuable research tool for studying mGluR4 in neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease, in both cellular and animal models.
