(±) -Perillaldehyde is a small molecule with demonstrated antidepressant activity in stress-induced mouse models, acting via the olfactory nervous system. In vitro, it exhibits anti-inflammatory effects in RAW264.7 macrophages by activating JNK and suppressing TNF-α expression (IC50 = 171.7 μM) . This compound is a useful research tool for neuropsychiatric and immunology studies.
