RWJ-58643 is a β-trypsin and trypsin inhibitor for research on allergic inflammation. In vivo studies show it reduces nasal symptoms and IL-5 at 100 mg, but exhibits a paradoxical, dose-dependent increase in eosinophils and IL-5 at higher doses (300-600 mg) .
