AN317 is a potent and selective α6β2 nAChR agonist (Ki = 6.2 nM) that promotes striatal dopamine release and exhibits neuroprotective activity against MPP+-induced toxicity in vitro. Its favorable brain penetration and pharmacokinetics support its use in research on Parkinson's disease, addiction, and dopaminergic neuron function in both in vivo and in vitro models.
