CMX990 is a potent small molecule inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 3CL protease, demonstrating antiviral activity with EC90 values of 9.6 nM in human bronchial epithelial cells and 101 nM in HeLa-ACE2 cells. It features favorable ADME/PK properties, supporting its utility for in vitro antiviral mechanism studies and preclinical in vivo research on coronavirus infections.
