Tyrosinase-IN-27 (6f) is a potent tyrosinase inhibitor (IC50 = 0.88 μM) that acts by binding to the enzyme, increasing its local hydrophobicity and altering its secondary structure to reduce α-helix content. This mechanism effectively suppresses enzymatic activity, making it a useful research tool for studying pigmentation and for in vitro applications like preventing food browning, as demonstrated with lotus root slices.
