Brinazarone (SR 33287) is an acid sphingomyelinase inhibitor that induces cellular lipidosis. It has been utilized in in vitro research to potentiate the cytotoxicity of immunotoxins, such as anti-Thy 1.2 and anti-CD5 conjugates, in studies targeting specific T-cell lines.
