Verticilide is a ryanodine receptor inhibitor that potently blocks ryanodine binding in insect (cockroach) receptors with an IC50 of 4.2 μM, while showing significantly weaker activity against mammalian (mouse) receptors (IC50 = 53.9 μM) . This selective profile makes it a useful research tool for studying insecticide targets and comparative pharmacology in both in vitro binding assays and potential insect toxicology studies.
