Cremophor EL
Cremophor EL is a nonionic surfactant widely used as a solubilizing agent in pharmaceutical and biochemical research. It is known to inhibit cellular metabolism and suppress UGT1A1-mediated glucuronidation, such as that of rhodopsin, making it relevant for in vitro studies of drug metabolism and enzyme activity.
