WJ-39 is an orally bioavailable aldose reductase inhibitor that activates Nrf2 signaling and suppresses NLRP3 inflammasome-driven oxidative stress and inflammation. It has demonstrated efficacy in ameliorating diabetic nephropathy, renal insufficiency, and fibrosis in preclinical in vivo studies.
