Prostaglandin F2α 1,9-lactone
This lipid-soluble 1,9-lactone derivative of PGF2α is stable in human plasma, resisting esterase hydrolysis for over 20 hours. It serves as a chemically stable probe for studying prostaglandin pathways in vitro, with notably reduced antifertility and vasoactive effects compared to PGF2α.
