17-Phenyl trinor Prostaglandin E2 is a synthetic EP1/EP3 receptor agonist. It induces smooth muscle contraction in vitro, such as in guinea pig ileum, and demonstrates potent antifertility activity in vivo, being 4.4 times more effective than PGE2 in hamsters. This analog is used in reproductive biology and smooth muscle pharmacology research.
