This research-grade Rp-dGTPαS is a substrate for the SAMHD1 tetramer, an enzyme that hydrolyzes it to regulate cellular dNTP pools and restrict viral replication. It is applied in biochemical studies of SAMHD1 mechanism and in vitro investigations of host-pathogen interactions, particularly for HIV-1.
