CP102 is an iron chelator that, when administered at 2 mg/ml in drinking water, significantly decreases hepatic non-heme and ferritin-bound iron in mice. This compound is a useful research tool for investigating iron metabolism and overload conditions in both in vivo and in vitro experimental models.
