Taurohyocholic Acid sodium
Taurohyocholic acid (THCA) is a taurine-conjugated porcine bile acid that stabilizes cholesterol in liquid-crystalline phases, inhibiting crystal precipitation. It has demonstrated protective effects against taurolithocholic acid-induced cholestasis in isolated rat liver models, and its urinary levels are elevated in hepatitis B cirrhosis patients.
