Dabigatran (BIBR 953), an oral anticoagulant, is a reversible, potent, competitive direct thrombin inhibitor (Ki=4.5 nM) . Dabigatran (BIBR 953) also inhibits thrombin-induced platelet aggregation (IC50=10 nM) [1][2].
