Emtricitabine triphosphate tetrasodium salt is the active phosphorylated metabolite of the antiviral drug Emtricitabine. This nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) anabolite is used in biochemical research to study the mechanisms of HIV-1 and HBV inhibition in both cell-based (in vitro) and enzymatic assays.
