Serratia marcescens nuclease is a potent, non-specific endonuclease that degrades both DNA and RNA by cleaving phosphodiester bonds. It is widely used in molecular biology for nucleic acid removal in vitro, including applications in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and the preparation of cell lysates free of nucleic acids.
