This small molecule cysteine protease inhibitor demonstrates potent antiplasmodial activity against both drug-sensitive (Pf3D7, IC50 = 0.74 μM) and drug-resistant (PfW2, IC50 = 1.05 μM) Plasmodium falciparum strains. It is a valuable research tool for studying parasite biology and validating falcipain-2/3 (PfFP2/PfFP3) as drug targets in malaria.
