MK-8768 is a potent, selective, and orally bioavailable negative allosteric modulator of the metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGluR2) with an IC50 of 9.6 nM. Its excellent brain penetration supports its use in both in vitro binding studies and in vivo models for researching CNS disorders such as anxiety, schizophrenia, and addiction.
