DHFR-IN-8 (compound 6r) is a potent dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitor that blocks essential nucleotide synthesis, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth. It demonstrates potent anti-MRSA activity, with an IC50 of 15.6 ng/mL against strain ATCC 43300, and has shown efficacy in murine systemic and thigh infection models.
