15 (R),19 (R) -hydroxy Prostaglandin F2α
19 (R) -Hydroxylated prostaglandins, particularly from the PGE and PGF series, are found in primate and marsupial semen. Their biological role is unclear, but 19 (R) -hydroxylation in F-series PGs reduces receptor-mediated activity. These compounds are used in reproductive biology research to study prostaglandin metabolism and receptor interactions in vitro.
