BDPSB is a potent, light-sensitive inhibitor of the mitotic motor protein Eg5 (KIF11) . This photocontroller enables precise spatiotemporal manipulation of Eg5's ATPase activity, facilitating studies of mitosis, spindle dynamics, and cell division in both in vitro biochemical assays and live-cell imaging experiments.
