(±) 17 (18) -DiHETE is a major cytochrome P450-derived dihydroxy metabolite of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), formed via epoxidation and subsequent epoxide hydrolase action. This metabolite is used in lipid mediator research, particularly for studying the roles of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) and cytochrome P450 pathways in inflammation and resolution models in vitro and in vivo.
