Cis-5-Tetradecenoic acid is an endogenous fatty acid metabolite used as a biochemical tool in the study of Long Chain 3-Hydroxyacyl-CoA Dehydrogenase (LCHAD) Deficiency. It is applied in both in vitro enzyme activity assays and metabolic research to investigate this inherited disorder of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation.
