JY-1-106 is a small molecule BH3 α-helix mimetic that promotes apoptosis in cancer cells, including lung and colon carcinomas, by inhibiting the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-xL and Mcl-1. Its mechanism involves disrupting their protective interactions with the pro-apoptotic protein Bak. This compound is a valuable research tool for studying Bcl-2 family protein dynamics and apoptosis induction in both in vitro and in vivo cancer models.
