Glycerol kinase

Glycerol Kinase (GyK) is a bacterial enzyme that catalyzes the first step of glycerol metabolism by phosphorylating glycerol to glycerol-3-phosphate. This enzyme is a key tool for studying bacterial metabolism, membrane transport mechanisms, and energy homeostasis in both in vitro biochemical assays and in vivo microbial studies.
