Ilaprazole sodium hydrate (IY-81149) is an orally active proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by targeting H+/K+-ATPase. Research indicates it also exhibits antiviral properties, inhibiting the release and spread of herpes simplex virus (HSV) -1 and HSV-2 particles in cultured Vero cells.
