Pycnophorin is a small molecule antibiotic with a MIC of 25 μM against both Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. It is a useful research tool for studying Gram-positive bacterial inhibition in in vitro assays and exploring mechanisms of antimicrobial action.
