D-Luciferin 6′-methyl ether sodium salt is a potent PpyLuc luciferase inhibitor (IC50 = 0.1 μM) . As a D-luciferin analog, it non-specifically interacts with the enzyme's ATP and substrate binding sites. This compound is useful in bioluminescence-based assays and for studying luciferase mechanism and inhibition in vitro.
