Tropisetron
Tropisetron is an α7-nicotinic receptor agonist and 5-HT3 receptor antagonist with Kis of 6.9 nM and 5.3 nM, respectively. (In Vitro) :The IC50 value of Tropisetron for the 5-HT3 receptor is 70.1 ± 0.9 nM. Tropisetron inhibits IL-2 production and antigen-induced proliferation in human peripheral T cells and inhibits signaling pathways that regulate the activation of transcription factors AP-1, NFAT, and NF-κB. (In Vivo) :Tolbisetron induces anti-inflammatory effects in experimental models of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity that are completely independent of the 5-HT3 receptor. Tropisetron can improve ischemic brain injury by reducing TNF-α levels and myeloperoxidase activity.
