Uridine 5'-diphosphate sodium salt is a selective endogenous agonist for the P2Y6 receptor (EC50 = 300 nM) and a potent antagonist of the P2Y14 receptor. This nucleotide is widely used in purinergic signaling research to study receptor function in immune responses, neuroinflammation, and various in vitro and in vivo physiological models.
