Protein deglycase DJ-1 against-1
This small molecule inhibitor (compound 23) is a blood-brain barrier permeable deglycase DJ-1-targeting compound. It binds to the C106 residue to prevent protein over-oxidation, protecting against oxidative stress. It has shown efficacy in restoring neuronal function and motor deficits in MPTP-induced in vivo models of Parkinson's disease.
