Atorvastatin Hemicalcium Trihydrate is an orally active lipid-lowering agent that potently inhibits HMG-CoA reductase. It also suppresses the proliferation and invasion of human vascular smooth muscle cells (SV-SMC) in vitro, with IC50 values of 0.39 μM and 2.39 μM, respectively.
