RK-701 is a potent, selective, and non-genotoxic G9a inhibitor (IC50 23-27 nM) that induces fetal hemoglobin (HbF) by downregulating H3K9me2 and repressing BCL11A and ZBTB7A. It is a valuable research tool for studying sickle cell disease and β-thalassemia in both cellular and animal models.
