SPR38 is a potent small molecule inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro, Ki=0.260 μM) and also targets human cathepsin L (Ki=1.92 μM) and cathepsin B (Ki=11.1 μM) . This dual activity makes it a valuable research tool for studying viral replication and host cell entry mechanisms in both in vitro and cellular assay systems.
