Lipoxin A5
Lipoxin A5 (LXA5) is a leukocyte-derived eicosanoid synthesized from EPA. It induces contraction of guinea pig pulmonary parenchyma with potency comparable to LXA4 and LXB4, but lacks their vasodilatory action on aortic smooth muscle. This makes it a valuable research tool for studying specialized pro-resolving mediator functions in pulmonary biology and vascular pharmacology.
