Dequalinium Bromide is a small-molecule HIV-1 fusion inhibitor that targets the Env protein's membrane-proximal external region. It blocks CD4-induced conformational changes, preventing viral entry. This compound is used in vitro to study HIV-1 entry mechanisms and evaluate fusion inhibitors.
