Aculeacin A is a lipopeptide antibiotic that inhibits β (1→3) -glucan synthase, disrupting fungal cell wall synthesis. It is widely used in research to study antifungal resistance mechanisms in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the morphogenesis of Candida albicans in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
