(R) -ZG197 is a selective small-molecule activator of Caseinolytic protease P (ClpP) . It potently activates Staphylococcus aureus ClpP (EC50 = 1.5 μM) and, with lower potency, human ClpP (EC50 = 31.4 μM) . This compound is a valuable research tool for studying bacterial proteostasis and virulence in vitro and for exploring ClpP's role as a potential antibacterial target.
